Familia Martínez Bujanda consists of three wine wineries very different from each other but with a common aspect: quality wines are produced with grapes from our own vineyards, which are located in privileged spots.

When the great-grandfather of the family, Joaquín Martínez Bujanda established this business in 1889, he knew that it is essential to monitor the vineyards to reach the demanded quality in the wine.  This idea is now our family’s motto.  We monitor the quality and innovate every aspect of the production.

In this way, generation after generation we have looked for the best land in every zone to create vineyards.  Now we have more than 280 hectares of vineyards in the region of La Rioja, where Finca Valpiedra stands out, with 80 hectares.  Besides, we are proprietors of a spectacular 1000 hectares land in La Mancha region.

Due to the specific location, all the vineyards have exceptional conditions: elevation, microclimate, stony ground, etc.

In Familia Martínez Bujanda every winery and wine have their own character, depending on the vineyards and grapes that we use to produce them.  Finca Valpiedra is a new idea on Rioja wines, while Finca Antigua is today one of the most creative wineries.

Finca Valpiedra is placed in a spectacular meander of the river Ebro, one of the largest agricultural lands in Spain; this is the best area in the region (guarantee of origin Rioja).

For this familiar business to produce wine exclusively from grapes of this exceptional vineyard is a dream come true.

Finca Valpiedra stands out, not just because of its extraordinary beauty, but mainly because of the quality of its grapes.  This combination makes the place a privileged one.

Finca Valpiedra is a new and original way to produce Rioja wine.  These are modern wines, gifted with extraordinary characteristics, produced with carefully selected fruits in the vineyard that surrounds the winery.

This land has exceptional conditions thanks to its microclimate and the characteristics of the ground, formed by a layer of pebbles and limestone (that’s why the wine is so named).  These stones keep the heat and humidity and so they protect and feed the wine.
